After-School Enrichment
at
GREEN VALLEY ELEMENTARY
After-school enrichment (ASE) at Green Valley offers a diverse range of activities designed to ignite creativity, spark curiosity, and develop new skills. From arts and crafts to science experiments, and sports, there’s something for everyone! Led by passionate instructors, our program provides a fun and engaging environment where kids can explore their interests, make new friends, and continue learning outside the classroom. Whether they’re trying something completely new or honing an existing talent, our enrichment activities help students grow, build confidence, and have a great time along the way!

ASE classes are taught by independent vendors. ASE is NOT affiliated with Green Valley Elementary School, PTA or Learning Fund.

All NEW material this session! We will alternate doing Spanish & Latin Dance each week.
For Latin Dance, students will learn how to dance: folkloric, salsa, merengue and more.
For Spanish, students will learn: ABC’s, numbers, colors, vocabulary words, phrases (conversation), poems, songs, art projects, games and much more. The goal of our program is to attain conversational skills and to build a Spanish language foundation for when they enter middle school. New material is introduced each session.

Environmental consciousness is becoming essential in today’s world. In this course, students explore clean technology by learning how electric cars, windmills, solar panels, and hydroelectric systems work through hands-on circuit activities. They study series and parallel circuits to understand how current flow and load distribution change with each configuration. As they build and test models, students work with resistors, switches, voltage sources, LEDs, jumper wires, conductors, and insulators to see how real electrical systems are engineered. They also watch proprietary videos, play Kahoot, and participate in guided circuit-building sessions that make each clean-tech concept clear, engaging, and meaningful.

Our after-school enrichment basketball program is the perfect opportunity for kids to have fun, stay active, and develop their skills on the court! Led by experienced coaches, this program focuses on building basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship in an engaging and supportive environment. Whether your child is just starting or looking to sharpen their game, they'll enjoy practicing drills, learning new techniques, and participating in friendly scrimmages with their peers. It's a great way for kids to stay fit, gain confidence, and make new friends while playing the sport they love!

For Gardening, students will learn about: how plants grow, soil and it's importance to plants, how to water plants, different species of plants, and will plant legumes, flowers and other types of seeds.
For Sewing, Children will learn how to safely thread a needle; draw and cut-out a pattern; and sew their own pieces by hand. Sewing techniques learned in this class: running stitch, slip stitch, how to sew buttons, and more. Children will make pillows, stuffed animals, quilts and more.

With the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence, it is essential to introduce children to how these technologies work at a fundamental level. In this immersive program, students learn to communicate effectively with AI through hands-on activities, creative projects, and interactive games. They develop key prompt engineering skills—the ability to give clear instructions so AI produces accurate, creative, and safe results. Students write stories, solve problems, create music, design simple games, and experiment with AI-generated images and sounds. No experience is needed. Along the way, they learn to use AI as a learning partner, think critically about technology, and understand AI’s limitations, biases, and errors.
